MV Scuba Cat is an ideal scuba diving platform. The design in stability is only found in a very large catamaran liveaboard boat. She operates amongst the protected waters of the Similan Islands making this the most "friendly" boat to be found...seasickness is rare. From only 12,000 Baht per person.
Whale Shark Awareness Speciality
The purpose of the PADI Whale Shark Awareness Diver Speciality Course is to introduce divers and snorkelers to the world's largest fish and familiarise divers with the proper techniques for recreational diving whilst encountering whale sharks with minimal impact on the sharks' habitat and behaviour.
What do you need to start?
- PADI Open Water Diver or Junior Open Water Diver certifications (or qualifying scuba diving certification from another organization)
- Minimum age: 15 years old
What will you do?
You'll learn about Whale Shark, their biology, behaviour and distribution. The course will also overview whale shark research and conservation status worldwide. You'll learn to plan, organise and execute a dive with whale sharks, in a safe and passive manner and to recognise the importance of Whale Shark monitoring activities and provide an opportunity to participate in Whale Shark conservation (through the Whale Shark Photo ID web site).
What's included in the course?
At Scuba Cat Diving, Phuket Thailand we teach all of our scuba diving certification courses in small groups to ensure that you receive the attention that you deserve. All our courses are taught to PADI Standards.
How much will it cost?
The Price for Whale Shark Awareness Speciality Course is 7,500 Baht (1 day / 2 Dives).
Including equipment rental, two boat dives, certification and instructor fees.
What can you do next?
This Speciality course counts toward one of the five Specialities required for your Master Scuba Diver certification. Or why not join us for some day trip diving or even a liveaboard trip?
Compared with most "dive centers" in Thailand (a lot of them is just a website - a "Virtual Dive Company") - Scuba Cat owns their own fleet of diving boats and have been in operation since 1994. If you do a Course or a Dive Career Package with us, all your dives will be from one of our own dive boats, not "we got to do a beach dive, 'cause it is not enough students" or from a "last minute rented long tail boat, 'cause all the other boats are full".
