This is Technically a PADI course, but we like our technical instructors to teach the course. With their experience working in the recompression chamber they can teach you the benefits of breathing enriched air at depth and what problems that might accur when too much co2 is in your breathing loop.

Rebreather

This is an ancient science that still to this day is far superior to any open circuit systems around! With no bubbles and sound created by "Darth Vader" open circuit regulators, this is a must for anyone who wants to be at one with the marine life, especially if you want to photograph the underwater world.

This course is a must during high season, where you can dive the Similan Islands during your course and have the option to fun dive with the unit after you are certified.

You need to be a Nitrox diver before you can start this course. We also provide Nitrox courses.

This has many unique advantages:

  • No noisy valve, no bubble noise
  • Previously shy marine animals will allow a much closer look
  • Your breathing gas is continuously warm and moist
  • Reduced usage of breathing gases since 90% of the gases are recycled
  • Plus all the advantages of diving with Nitrox.

As one of the most fun and informative courses on offer you will learn how to fully set up and breakdown the unit along with a 1/2 day theory session on understanding rebreather diving along with three training dives.

What do you need to start?

  • PADI Advanced Open Water Diver (or qualifying scuba diving certification from another organization) OR PADI Open Water Diver certification (or qualifying scuba diving certification from another organization) with proof of at least 10 logged dives beyond open water training dives.
  • PADI Enriched Air Diver certification (or qualifying scuba diving certification from another organization)
  • Minimum age: 15 years old

What will you do?

The new 2 day PADI Rebreather Diver program is the entry level course for recreational divers wishing to utilize Nitrox Semi-Closed Circuit Rebreather systems. This Specialty course introduces the planning, organization, procedures, potential problems and hazards of semi-closed rebreather diving. It is specific to the features, accessories, maintenance and proper use of the Dolphin/Atlantis semi-closed rebreathers. A pool orientation and 3 Draeger Dolphin open water dives are included.

Course Summary

What's included in the course?

At Scuba Cat we teach all of our diver level courses in small groups to ensure that you receive the attention that you deserve. All our courses are taught to PADI Standards.

How much will it cost?

Semi-closed Rebreather Dolphin/Atlantis Speciality Course 25,000 Baht (2days/3dives) including equipment rental three boat dives, certification and instructor fees.

What can you do next?

This Speciality course counts as one of the five Specialities required for your Master Scuba Diver certification. Or why not join us for some day trip diving or even a liveaboard trip to the Similans?

Compared with most "dive centers" in Thailand (a lot of them is just a website - a "Virtual Dive Company") - Scuba Cat owns their own fleet of diving boats and have been in operation since 1994. If you do a Course or a Dive Career Package with us, all your dives will be from one of our own dive boats, not "we got to do a beach dive, 'cause it is not enough students" or from a "last minute rented long tail boat, 'cause all the other boats are full".
