Instructor Training

Assistant Instructor (AI)

The first part of the PADI Instructor Development Course (IDC) is the PADI Assistant Instructor course. This course provides you additional experience as a PADI Professional and teaches you the PADI System of diver education.

Open Water Scuba Instructor (OWSI)

The PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor (OWSI) program is the second part of the Instructor Development Course (IDC). During this program you'll learn to adapt the PADI System of diver education to individual student needs. This comprehensive course is supported by a wide variety of PADI educational materials. After successful completion of the PADI Instructor Exam (IE), you'll be able to teach a broad range of PADI courses from Discover Scuba to Divemaster.

Instructor Development Course (IDC)

The IDC is a combination of the PADI Assistant Instructor and Open Water Scuba Instructor programs. After successful completion of the PADI Instructor Exam (IE), you'll be able to teach a broad range of PADI courses from Discover Scuba Diving to Divemaster.

Instructor Exam (IE)

The PADI IE is conducted by PADI Examiners. You will repeat many of the things that you have learnt during the IDC, including academic, confined water and open water teaching presentations. Upon successful completion you will be certified as a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor.

Emergency First Response Instructor (EFRI)

This program will show you how to teach Emergency First Response Primary Care (CPR), Emergency First Response Secondary Care and Care For Children. As a PADI Instructor you will be teaching several courses that will require your students to have first aid and CPR training. By qualifying as an EFR Instructor, you will be able to teach your students yourself.

Speciality Instructor

Being able to teach PADI Speciality programs will enable you to offer your new and existing students more courses to choose from. Being able to teach more PADI courses makes you more desirable to potential employers. It will also allow you to indulge in the types of diving you enjoy while being paid for it.

If you would like to take several PADI Speciality Instructor training courses then why not enrol on our MSDT Preparation Program?

Master Scuba Diver Trainer (MSDT) Prep Program

This program will qualify you to teach 5 PADI Speciality courses from the PADI Speciality Instructor Programs. Once you have certified 25 divers, you will be able to apply to PADI for the PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer rating. By taking 5 Speciality courses at once, you will save money compared to paying for each course individually.

IDC Staff Instructor(IDCS)

As a seasoned PADI Instructor, you have wisdom and experience to share with up-and-coming PADI leaders. And, you know that continuing your education never ends. As an Instructor Development Course (IDC) PADI IDC Staff Instructor, you help bring up the next generation of PADI Instructors while gaining in-depth Instructor-trainer knowledge.

Compared with most "dive centers" in Thailand (a lot of them is just a website - a "Virtual Dive Company") - Scuba Cat owns their own fleet of diving boats and have been in operation since 1994. If you do a Course or a Dive Career Package with us, all your dives will be from one of our own dive boats, not "we got to do a beach dive, 'cause it is not enough students" or from a "last minute rented long tail boat, 'cause all the other boats are full".
