The purpose of the PADI Whale Shark Awareness Diver Speciality Course is to introduce divers and snorkelers to the world's largest fish and familiarise divers with the proper techniques for recreational diving whilst encountering whale sharks with minimal impact on the sharks' habitat and behaviour.


What do you need to start?

PADI Open Water Diver or Junior Open Water Diver certifications (or qualifying scuba diving certification from another organization)

Minimum age: 15 years.


What will you do?

You'll learn about Whale Shark, their biology, behaviour and distribution. The course will also overview whale shark research and conservation status worldwide. You'll learn to plan, organise and execute a dive with whale sharks, in a safe and passive manner and to recognise the importance of Whale Shark monitoring activities and provide an opportunity to participate in Whale Shark conservation (through the Whale Shark Photo ID web site).


What's included in the course?

At Scuba Cat Diving, Phuket, Thailand we teach all of our scuba diving certification courses in small groups to ensure that you receive the attention that you deserve. All our courses are taught to PADI Standards.


How much will it cost?

The Price for PADI Whale Shark Awareness Distinctive Speciality Course is 10,000 Baht (1 day / 2 Dives).

Including equipment rental, two boat dives, certification and instructor fees.


What can you do next?
