Want to learn about the PADI system of Diver Education and gain additional experience as a PADI Professional, you next two steps are PADI Assistant Instructor (AI) and PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor (OWSI). These can be taken as two seperate courses but are best taken combined as a PADI IDC (IDC) so you can start your journey as a PADI Instructor following your PADI Instructor Exam (IE). After this you are qualified to teach PADI Open Water Diver Course, PADI Advanced Open Water Diver Course, PADI Rescue Diver Course and PADI Divemaster Course.

Emergency First Response

Crossing over from another agency

You can easily crossover to become a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor. In most cases this will simply be a matter of enrolling in the OWSI program before taking the PADI Instructor Exam.


With effect from March 2009 you need to be qualified as an Emergency First Response Instructor (EFRi) to participate in your PADI IE, you can also take the training with your PADI Divemaster Course.


Completing PADI Speciality Instructor Training with our resident Platinum PADI Course Director allows you to start teaching the PADI Specialities you received training in immediately to students. If you would like to take several PADI Speciality Instructor training courses why not enrol in our Master Scuba Diver Trainer (MSDT) Preparation Program. Combine this with our exclusive Work Experience program and gain the 25 certifications you require to become a Master Scuba Diver Trainer (MSDT).

Once you have gained your 25 certifications from teaching Dive Courses to students you can enrol in your PADI IDC Staff Instructor Course (IDSC) enabling you to assist a PADI Course Director in training the next generation of PADI Instructors.
