What do you need to start?

PADI Open Water Diver or Junior Open Water Diver certification (or qualifying scuba diving certification from another organization)

Minimum age: 10 years old

Participation in both levels is also open for snorkelers who will receive a non-diving certificate after successful completion.


What will you do?

The PADI Digital Underwater Photography specialty course has a two-level design:


Level 1:

  • Point-and-shoot cameras and their practicabilities
  • White balancing
  • Color filters
  • Taking photographs without external flash

Level 2

  • Using histograms
  • File formats
  • Image resolution
  • Picture composition
  • Organization and archiving

You will also get to learn the PADI S.E.A. method (Shoot, Examine and Adjust) of digital underwater photography. A successful completion of Level 1 is the prerequisite for Level 2. The duration for both levels is 4 hours each.


What's included in the PADI Course?

At Scuba Cat Diving, Phuket, Thailand all our scuba diving certification courses include manuals and free scuba diving equipment rental For the Underwater Photography program you'll receive the PADI Underwater Photography Manual. In addition we teach all of our diver level courses in small groups to ensure that you receive the attention that you deserve. All our courses are taught to PADI Standards.


How much will it cost?

The price for this PADI Digital Underwater Photography Speciality Course, including the new PADI Digital Underwater Photographer Manual and an underwater white balance slate, certification and instructor fees is: 12,000 Baht this is made up of level 1 and Level 2.

What can you do next?

Certified divers can get Level 2 credited as an adventure dive for the PADI Adventures in Diving program and this speciality certification counts as one of the five Speciality course certifications for the PADI Master Scuba Diver certification.
